Get found in Google, Yahoo! and Bing search
In our experience Google has about 75% of UK's search market. If your website is found in the first 10 or 20 results with searches such as bed breakfast [town name], B&B [town name], hotel [town name] or accommodation [town name] you're already doing good business. If not, you need to do something about it. Some of the things to get right in your website:
- Unique text (not pinched from someone else's site)
- Correct use and frequency of keywords
- Google can't read pictures - describe them with words
- Meaningful and unique title for each page
- Meaningful and unique META description for each page
- Good text semantics including use of headers
Most importantly you need a lot of back links from other related sites that have good Google PageRank.
